Overview

The East Gippsland Adventure Challenge is an exciting weekend of racing, orienteering, and navigation for all adventure loving families.

Book your entry and accommodation for the weekend then commence your training in preparation for the race!

We have three exciting events: The Multisport Race, the Kid’s Challenge and the O-Duathlon.

The Multisport Race

This race is designed for different levels of athletes, whether it’s your first time or you’re an experienced racer, and you can choose to do it on your own,  as part of a relay team or you can also compete in the AR Duo category, where you and a mate stay together for the entire event and kayaking gear is supplied.

The course starts and finishes in the Lakes Entrance Foot Bridge, and racers will compete over multiple stages:

  • 26-km mountain bike
  • 16-km trail run
  • 11-km paddle

finishing up back at the Foot Bridge, celebrating victory or just enjoying having completed this grueling challenge. If you travelled with kids, this would be the time to get them ready for the Kids challenge!

The Kids Challenge is a short adventure race, specifically designed for kids. This race is a great way of engaging kids in sport from an early age and promoting a healthy lifestyle. This will be a great way to introduce your little ones to the world of adventure racing!

The Kids Challenge course consists of maximum of around 1000 meters of running, orienteering like tasks (no training required), simple obstacles and some kayaking to finish off.

O-Duathlon

O-Duathlon has been designed keeping adventure racers in mind, combining mountain biking and trail running with orienteering and navigation skills. It’s designed for anyone with sense of adventure.

Competitors will receive a map at the start line and must complete three legs in order, but you can choose the route between checkpoints within running legs . The O-Duathlon has dedicated mountain bike trails in the classic Australian bush. The race begins with a late start at Colquhoun Mountain bike trails so that everyone can have a relaxed morning coffee.

Be warned however: don’t let the lovely scenery on the trails distract you from the race!
